Initiate and support sensor technology research projects for infrared and night vision materials, devices, and systems. Design and execute laboratory experiments to assess viability and compliance of those materials, devices, and systems for intended applications. Develop evaluation plans, analyze data, and compare data to empirical results and models. Write technical reports, publications, and prepare presentations. Investigate and evaluate novel concepts for sensor related materials, devices, and systems. Assist and guide students, junior engineers, and technicians in research.
Requirements include a Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Electro-Optics or equivalent knowledge, plus fifteen years related work experience desirable. Experience in imaging system design, test, or evaluation; imaging software/algorithm development, and project management desired. Faculty rank will be commensurate with education level and experience. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. Citizenship required.
