MATERIALS MGR
(OPTOELECTRONICS)
This leadership position encompasses ownership and accountability for all aspects of materials procurement and management at our Ann Arbor manufacturing facility. Includes administrative responsibility of Purchasing, Stockroom, and Shipping/ Receiving. This position will also lead the effort of identifying, selecting, and implementing a new corporate-wide ERP system. The successful candidate will be very detail oriented and able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously. Exceptional problem-solving and relationship-building skills are a must. Specific responsibilities include:
# Coordinate and manage procurement of raw materials, components, equipment, supplies and services for use in Picometrix manufacturing, R&D, and administrative operations. Negotiate contracts, lead purchased material cost reduction activities.
# Source, negotiate and manage relationships with OEM suppliers of components and materials. Form long term contracts to ensure uninterrupted flow of materials & hold prices down to an acceptable level.
# Work with Engineering on new-product development projects. Develop and manage NPI component vendor relationships.
Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline required; MS/MBA preferred. CPIM, APICS. Engineering degree a plus. 5+ years materials/purchasing management experience primarily in a technology manufacturing environment. Direct experience identifying, selecting, and implementing corporate-wide ERP systems is essential.
