Tenure-Track Position in Physics

Applications are invited for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Physics position at Wright State University to begin September 2010; suitably qualified candidates could be considered at the Associate Professor level. The position will be affiliated with the Department of Physics with the possibility of a joint appointment in the Department of Electrical Engineering. This position will support the Ohio Academic Research Cluster in Layered Sensing, a consortium of universities funded by the State of Ohio’s Third Frontier Program to perform research and development in sensor science, advanced materials, technology, and systems. We are looking for applicants whose research complements current efforts in sensing, imaging, and spectroscopy, and who will interact with our physics and engineering faculty involved in basic and applied research in mm waves, terahertz, infrared, advanced materials, device physics, nanotechnology, sensing systems, and sensor fusion. The successful candidate should be qualified to teach courses at all levels and to develop an active, funded research program. Candidates must have a Doctorate in Physics or closely related field (anticipated by July 1, 2010). Postdoctoral experience is desirable.
