After the establishment of successful IR/THz program and user community at the synchrotron ANKA, the Karlsruhe Research Center proposes to build a novel linac based coherent radiation source TBONE in the THz to mid-IR range. The 1st workshop on TBONE will be held at the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe on February 12-13, 2009.
Scientists from the Technische Universitat Braunschweig have taken first place in the IPB Patent Awards competition for their invention: frequency-selective, flexible, inexpensive THz reflectors made of plastic materials.
Teams of researchers are being assembled into eight project teams including one on THz Detectors for Medical Imaging and Spectroscopy.
We seek to appoint a PhD student in the field of terahertz spectroscopy applied to protein systems.
An optimised device structure paves the way towards handheld THz spectroscopy systems based on 1.5 micron telecom technology.
